Touur de Frankie? Purty funny, Pal (pun intended) Although your question And why is there never a serious French rider in contention - or team i should say? is the same one I had. Another is why are there so many Spaniards in the top six (four!) or top ten (six!)? It appears Spaniards take Vuelta a Asturia far more seriously than French do the Touur de Frankie.

7-30-07-PARIS (AP) — Spanish rider Iban Mayo tested positive for EPO during the final week of the Tour de France, his team said Monday in a statement.Mayo's Saunier Duval team was told of the results of the July 24 test by cycling's governing body and "immediately suspended" Mayo, according to a statement posted on the team's website. And the beat goes on!

celtic: let the bidding begin - whatever Underhill is paying i'll top it. First bid - you pay me $10 and i'll take it off your hands - you pay S&H too. You may not get a better offer.

<<<<<Not sure if Lance doped but the circumstantial (and in Andreu's instance to me credible) evidence he did.>>>
Betsy Andreu's story is NOT credible. I have discussed this with my own oncologist, who happens to be an avid cyclist himself. He snorted in disbelief---no doctor would ask a question like that in the presence of a roomful of people besides the patient.
Furthermore, Betsy never identified the doctors, only said that they were not Lance's regular oncologists or his brain surgeon. So who were they? Where are they now? Why doesn't anyone else who was in the room back up this story?
This is not "circumstantial evidence".
It is rumor and innuendo, with no factual basis.

You are convincing me - i guess Frankie is just a bald-face liar jealous of his former friend. Shame on Frankie and he should be condemned and shunned by the cycling community for his and wife's nefarious dasturdly deed to discredit Lance.

Celtic : small world, huh. We stayed at the top of Alpe d'huez and then walked down the path behind the hill to get to our spot. Awesome that you camp. I would love to do the motor home thing one day. I rode up a few of those s-turns, but DH and his friends rode all the way to the Col du Galibier and back. Crazy! Before we hit the alpes we were in Provence and DH rode up Mt Ventoux. That was super special. I drove. We also saw the etape ending in Nimes. We would travel great together - our DHs can ride and we can take photos and drink wine . We are off to Tuscany in September and bringing bikes again.

<And, in spite of what PalenQ says, I think this tour is probably the closest to a drug free tour since drugs became an issue.>
unfortunately said before the leaders were expelled or quit - the same reason i don't think anyone should say 100% about Lance - could come back to bite you. Same reasoning to think that this tour would be as drug free as possible - i thought so too - is same reason not to buy 100% Lance's claim.
Name me a single cyclists caught doping that hasn't said the test was flawed.
Several, including past champs, have said several years later, however.

PalenQ:
2 of the latest doping positives the riders did in fact admit guilt and not blame the testing. Christian Moreni and Patrick Sinkewitz.
As a side note both tested positive for Testosterone - Which is the same drug Floyld Landis tested positive for, also his defense team claimed Testosterone was useless in cycling...hmmm maybe Moreni and Patrick should have been told Testosterone won't work!
