Yes, I am in Spanish classes and planning on continuing my Spanish education until fluent (which will be good for Barcelona)>

Many education institutions teach Spanish so folks can read it well but are not fluent in speaking - if so with you - try to various online Spanish speaking sights and watch Spanish movies, etc with subtitles.

I studied French for 4 years in h s and college and could read well -especially archaic texts- but once in France could hardly understand anyone - only after living there did I learn to be fluent in French.

You may want to incorporate a study abroad during uni in Spain and have classes in Spanish.
