150 bus to St Gilgen

I know this has been asked before but I searched and couldn’t find anything. We’re currently in Salzburg and would like to see St Gilgen and St Wolfgang tomorrow.

Is it easy to find the bus stop in Salzburg for the 150 bus, and do you just pay the driver? Would it be easier to take a Panorama tour? We have limited time here and I’d like to make it easy for myself.

Thanks.

Bus 150 leaves at Salzburg Hbf and stops at 4 other places within Salzburg. Take the ticket at the counter or at the ticket machine or ask local people where to buy.

Thanks. We’re staying near Mirabellplatz. Do you know if we can catch it there, and where exactly?

It stops right at Mirabellplatz, in front of the palace.

Must one cancel their own ticket before boarding or on board? With limited time I'd look at organized tours like the Sound of Music Tours though going on bus is straight forward - take boat may to St Wolfgang and take the steam train up the mountain? I did an easy walk down - lovely vistas.
