14 days in Northern Spain in October

My husband and I are planning a 14 day trip to Northern Spain in October. We will be flying in/out of Barcelona (we used airline miles for our tickets and did not have enough miles for an open jaw ticket). I have been to southern Spain before but this will be our first trip to Barcelona. He loves the artists from this region (Miro, Dali, Gaudi, etc.). We are also very interested in visiting San Sebastian and the Basque country.

We are looking for assistance with our itinerary for the second half of the trip. We will be staying in Barcelona for 5 days, then we could either fly to Bilbao and stay in San Sebastian OR travel through Costa Brava and Pyrenees before returning to Barcelona. We have also contemplated an itenerary that would include Barcelona to Costa Brava to San Sebastian to Bilbao, concluding with flying back to Barcelona but we feel this may be too ambitious for a two week trip. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would spend four nights in Barcelona, two in Cadaques for Dali time. Then I would spend the rest in San Sebsatian with maybe the last night or two in Bilbao.

Thank you for your replies! @Egbert, do you have a suggestion for lodging in Cadaques?

@chapla, looking at the weather online during October it seemed to be mild with chance of rain. I will try and be prepared for colder/wetter weather and hope for better.

No I don't but I always read reviews on tripadvisor to find the best hotels. You never know what the weather will be like in San Sebastian. Andalucia is better at that time of year.
