10 days in Ireland
We are an Australian couple aged 75 years old, we are planning a trip to Ireland in April 2024, for 10-12 days starting out from London. We would like to get suggestions as where to go and the best way to get there, hire a car, public transport etc. and where to start in Ireland. Best way to get to Ireland and back from London. thank you

Plenty of people here would be glad to help you but are probably not interested in planning your whole trip! You need to do some work yourself and give more information. You must have picked Ireland for a reason. What draws you there? What are you interested in? What's important to you? Castles? Food? History? etc.

Welcome to Fodors sandjoy1947. Since you decided to visit Ireland you must have done some research of your own. What towns/sites are on your wish list and what ideas do you already have?
Re travel from London to Ireland -- the only practical mode is to fly. Otherwise it requites traveling by train all the way to far western Wales then catching a ferry (or train to Liverpool and ferry from there)

Oh - did mean to mention . . . if you plan on driving around Ireland, hiring a car over age 75 does have special requirements. Besides a clean driving record, one needs to supply a medical fitness document.
Also re insurance -- I don't know about credit cards issued in OZ, but except for a few rare exceptions, US credit cards don't cover rental insurance in Ireland (as a contrast, they do cover rental cars in the UK)

FYI--My trip report from 2019. We flew from London to Dublin and made our way without a car. England and Ireland - 3.5 weeks without a rental car
