10 day trip to Italy

Hello All,
In April 2013 I'm planing to vist Italy for 7-10 days. I'm planning a year ahead because I am a worry wart! I'm having trouble deciding where in Italy to go. I am a lover of art, architecture and food so here are some of the places I've been considering: Rome, Florence,Tuscany,Sicily, and Venice. I was thinking maybe 2 or 3 days per place. My question is how much is a good enough budget?

I would stick to Florence and Rome, with maybe a stop in Orvieto or Siena. Venice is wonderful, but it does not match Florence or Rome in terms of art. You do not have enough time to include Sicily.

I agree with Michael- I would go with Florence and Rome, with a day trip to Siena to see the Duomo. (although to be fair I haven't been to Venice- it's never really called to me- so I can't comment on it).

As for budget, everyone's definition of "good enough" is different. A better place to start might be to figure out how much you can afford and go from there.

Congrats on your trip we will also be there in April love it then and go a fair amount. My wife and I are flying over on FF miles with aa.com. Cheapest for us just train like a local www.seat61.com/italy budget hotels on eurocheapo.com or
priceline.com bidding for 4 stars from $80 works well for us. We budget $75-100 per person per day excluding transport. For
a first time Rome Florence venice-tourism.com our fav.
www.orvieto.info makes a nice stop for Etruscan history we
did that last May. www.ostia-antica.org ancient Rome Harbor city a do not miss if you love history.

We always stay flexible pare back ffor best experience.

Happy Trails!

Stick to two places. Travel time between destinations eats up at least half a day each time - there goes a chunk of your available vacation time.
