My wife and I are planning our first tip to Europe this April or May and we'd like to visit Italy. What are the must see cities in Italy and what would be a good itinerary for a 10 day trip? In addition, we live in Tampa, FL, what would be the best airline to get there if we wanted to go to Rome, Venice and Florence. Thanks a million.

I've been reading a lot of posts and there are lots of combinations on this board. I have a booked a week's stay in Tuscany (and will get a rental car). I'm thinking about adding two nights each in Venice and Rome - and traveling there by train. The Tuscany week will include day trips and "slow travel" and a visit to Florence museums.

Keep in mind that you will probably want to take an 11 day trip, because you will leave on Day 1 and arrive on Day 2.

I'm still figuring out my flight options, but am looking at a flight from Atlanta to Milan (direct) and flying out of Venice. Right now the far is under $900. Hoping for better deals down the road - but I'm traveling in the fall.
