I'm joining the 'add a day on to Rome' crowed. You won't regret it if you do, and I think you will if you don't.

Doug

I agree with Ellen, forget about the car, take the train. My suggestion is 3 nights in Rome, 3 nights in Siena, with a bus trip to Florence. I prefer relaxing after Rome, and Siena is a nice romantic, slow paced city. Than the last 3 in Venice.

Elfie - It seems like you'll be going at a reasonable pace in France, but racing through Italy. Add some time in Venice (and Rome, too). One night in Venice is way too short. In addition, there is so much to see and do in Rome that the time will fly. You won't regret spending more time in either city.

Keep in mind that there's a lot to see in Florence as well (Uffizi, Accademia, Duomo, Santa Croce, Pitti Palace, Piazzale Michelangelo). I don't know how close the Prada outlet is to Siena (or if you're driving), but remember that the bus ride on the "rapido" SITA is an hour and 15 minutes each way. If you take the slower SITA bus, it's about an hour and 45 minutes each way. Also, the Siena train station isn't close to the center of town, like the SITA bus station.
