1 month destination for young family

Looking for recommendations from the group:
My wife, daughter and I are looking for a vacation in July/august. We are wanting to find a country to stay in the countryside for about a month with nearby places to explore. This very vague as we are open to anything. We enjoy nature and culture. Also add that we are doing a fairly adventurous Norwegian Fjords vacation in May and we have done A fair amount of travel through Italy so those two are out. Note: daughter will be 18 months at the time.

How would you feel about the English countryside, perhaps the Cotswolds. Plenty to see and do + temperate summer weather.

Southern France would be great - investigate Gites - country houses rented by week or longer:

many are in small villages.

I too thought Cotswolds and then also the Yorkshir Dales. Temperate all the time. If renting a whole property you need to get your skates on.

I agree with the England recommendations - or somewhere more northerly destination. The South of France will be hot and crowded at that time of year.

Well yes south of France is one of most touristed places in Europe in summer and is hot. England however could be too wet and cool you never know but southern France yes will be very hot as all of southern Europe.
