1 day to spend from cruise ship

Have not been to Monaco in 25 years so imagine it has changed. We have a 12 hour stay there---anything new or different we should see...or not see? Also, do we have time to take a cab on a short trip?

My first time in MonteCarlo was almost 30 years ago. I have gone back twice, last time in Nov 2007. I didn't see anything changed, just more tourists. Actually that last time I also was on a cruise.

Monaco is so jam-packed into that hillside there's not much than CAN change. Personally, I'd grab a cab and go somewhere - anywhere.

I don't know if there is anything new & different in 25 yrs. I can only say that on our 12 day Med. Cruise, that was the only stop that I wasn't crazy about. It's so manicured that it looks like an Epcot exhibit, too perfect. I would take advantage of the nice long amount of time you have and go to Nice or visit some of the hilltop villages. They have much more personality, imho.

Thanks for your replies--=think we will get a cab and go down the coast to Nice and maybe up into the hills. Is a cab the best way to go and somewhat reasonable?

Visit the Exotic Botanical Garden in Monaco. A taxi up the hill for the view and a walk down is nice.

The casino was beautiful in the 1970s but went downhill in the 1980s. I haven't been there for about 20 years.
