1 day Edinburgh tour
Hi All,
Two queries:
1) What are the must-see in attractions in Edinburgh that can be finished in a day?
2) Is it worth it (cheaper n easier) to take one of the city tour buses to go around or travel by local transport?
Many thanks,
Gavain

W/ just one day - jump on the Hop-on-hop-off tour buses at Waverly bridge in the morning. Ride it up to the Castle. Get off and tour the Castle. Then walk down the Royal Mile. Visit St Giles Cathedral and just explore the nooks and crannies as you walk down the hill, ending up at Holyrood Palace/Abbey. This is the bottom of the Royal Mile and if you started early in the morning you will be leaving Holyrood by mid afternoon. Then jump on another H-o-h-o bus at Holyrood and ride it around the New Town. If time allows, get off the bus to visit the National Gallery and then jump on another bus to continue the tour.
(the museum of Scotland is fabulous and not far from the Royal Mile but w/ just a day you really don't have time)
