Anyone been on this ship? We are thinking about booking a room with a balcony. The rates are really good (about $900.00 per person) but I'm wondering why? The ship is only 1 year old. A comparable room and cruise on Princess is $1200.00 per person.

We've been looking at this ship and some good rates on the internet, too. I asked my TA's opinion just in passing and she said it was a great ship..and I know there are some ships she doesn't like and has told me about in the past. I've looked at reviews on cruisereviews, cruise-addicts and cruise critic...they are mixed but more positive than negative. I do want to try HA one of this days, and just how bad can a one-year-old ship be!!

I spent 3 weeks on the Zuiderdam in Feb-March this year and had a grand time, despite what all the nay-sayers have said in the many reviews around the internet.

Anyone been on this ship recently? Just found an awesome rate for a suite and would like to hear your feedback. Any reason why it's so much cheaper than other lines/ships? Thanks in advance!

It is a nice new ship that got off to a bad start and never totally recovered due to initial bad reports. The decor is on the gaudy side but great cabins , wonderful balconies, nice food and facilities. I would book it again.
