Viking Ocean Cruises Dress

I was told when I booked our ocean cruise with Viking that dress was casual, no dressy wear required. I would appreciate feedback on this, Does this mean jeans and slacks? Thank you!

Dear Kraines and Scootoir,

This is a great question and we’re happy to clarify. During the day, the dress is casual, including shorts, slacks or jeans. Evening dress is "elegant casual," including a dress, skirt or slacks with a sweater or blouse for ladies, and trousers and a collared shirt for gentleman. For more information on this and other commonly asked questions, we invite you to peruse our FAQs.

Should you have any lingering inquiries, please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected]. We hope this helps and wish you a lovely day!

Best,
Viking Cruises

I've been on two Viking ocean cruises. The answer above is right on. Pretty casual during the day, including shorts & jeans. In the evening I found the dress to be based on where you were dining. In the formal dining room, slacks and a collared shirt for men was the norm, as well as a few sports coats. I don't recall seeing anyone in a suit. For women, dresses, slacks, sweaters, etc...

In the buffet dining room, lots of folks with shorts. In the specialty restaurants, the same as the formal dining room.

These are great ships to travel on. You'll have a great time.
