The best way....

Can anyone tell me, the best or quickest way or website to find a cruise and the least expensive balcony cabin price. Is there a webside with an ADVANCED SEARCH which will show the balcony cabin prices first. Thanks for your help.

The best way to get an idea of pricing and cruise availability is cruise.com. You can go all the way through the booking option to see what cabins are available and at what price without having to give any personal information. Vacationstogo.com also list the cruises and a bottom price but you have to call them to get more info.

We've also gotten good prices at www.cruisecompete.com You enter what cruise, dates, type of cabin you want, and travel agents submit a bid.

vacationstogo.com will list all cruise lines and it will list the cost of each type of cabin. You do have to add on taxes, port charges. and fuel surcharges which some lines are now canceling to the basic cost. I have used the sources mentioned in the above post, but I always end up using that toll free number on Vacations to go to get the exact cost with everything added. Agree with traveller 69.

All cruise websites are basically the same. Trust me. I have checked cruises.com with my website with others and all cruises come up the same.

What is different sometimes are the extras you get, like cabin upgrades or onboard ship credits.

Just go with the website that you feel the most comfortable with.

I agree with Bon Bon on this. Prices simply do not range that dramatically regardless of where you book; on a $2,500 per person cruise, the price will rarely differ by less than $100 regardless of where you book (occasionally, you'll see ranges of up to $200, but my experience is that those are the exceptions rather than the rule).

And you can sometimes do better with a real travel agent (they don't charge fees to book cruises because they get commissions from the cruise lines).

The best deal is usually a category guarantee (as opposed to booking a specific cabin), which offers you the possibility of a free upgrade of a category or two if the ship doesn't sell out (and that's often the case these days).

The downside to that is that you might not have a choice as to which side of the ship you're on, which deck, etc. That can be a real downer if you end up underneath the disco, however.

Best advice is to find a real live breathing travel agent that specializes in cruises and deal with him or her. You will be much better off!

I like Expedia for search, but you need to know your destination and month. After that, you see all prices "from". You can sort cruises by length to compare the prices.

My favorite to find a cruise is cruise.com - they have a map, you click on the port, and get a list of all cruises from that port.

I've checked out other sites and yes they appear to give the same prices. I've booked through vacationstogo.com and always seem to get decent service. Since I don't have any complaints with them I'll continue to use them (but will still shop around a little before I book).
