tendering into port???
I haven't been on a Caribbean cruise in six years and I know a lot has changed since then. Can anyone tell me which of the following ports are ports you dock at versus being tendered into?
Barbadoes
St. Lucia
St. Thomas
St. Martin
Tortola, BVI
We are sailing on the Sea Princess. Thanks

Just an added comment Patty, any port can be a tender port if there are more ships in port than there is dock space. Some ports have room for only two or three ships and often it's first come, first served. I have been on ships that could not tell you for sure even the night before if they would dock or have to tender.

PattyD--

You almost ALWAYS tender into ST.MARTIN due to the currents--In fact, out of 4 cruises to the area, only 2 were even able to tender==as the seas were too rough....

St.Thomas-Depending on HOW large your ship is, and who gets to port first determines if you tender.....

Tortola-You will tender

Barbadoes-Usually no tender needed

Have never been to St.Lucia-so can't answer you on that one////

St. Thomas is not determined by who get there first or size.
Yes, the Norway always anchors because she is too large, but there is a published scheduled available a month ahead of time as to who docks where and who anchors.
