The prices of everything in S.Beach are outrageous. It is greatly overrated and overcrowded. At night it is a parade of people 'showing off' their cars, clothes, jewels and bodies. Stay at a Miami hotel and cab to the beach.

How about Priceline or Hotwire?

Hi : We did a two night stop over in South Beach before a cruise. We stayed at the Traymore, an art deco style hotel that does not seem to have had a facelift yet. So it was not gorgeous by any stretch but it was in a good location, backed on to the boardwalk walking distance to action, no need to waste time and money on parking. The beach was beautiful and the pool area was small but very nice. The were no extras though! It worked out perfect as a safe , clean place to use as a base to explore South Beach and area.Karen
