You make a good point Irm. I've been on cruises where I enjoyed every minute and had table-mates that could do nothing but find fault the entire trip. I too make up my mind to have a good time, and it has always helped us overcome the bumps that are bound to come up on any cruise.

Very surprised.

We cruised on Golden in the summer and I thought the experience, service, food and entertainment was fantastic.

Cruising on NCL in June this year, if it matches Princess I'll be more than happy.

I was on the Golden about two weeks ago and had a wonderful time. No complaints what so ever. There are people who are unhappy, no matter what. To each his own.

I've read such a comments before
"That afternoon, we received a call from the Matre'de apologizing for the poor service. He asked us to contact him when we arrived in the dining room that evening so that he could apologize in person. When I spoke with him at dinner, he suggested that I might not have properly perforated the order form and hung it on my door correctly"

Why service on ships sometimes feeling immune to the possibility of being fired?

Princess does have a large following. So it is not all bad.

But after 20+ cruises on many lines -Carnival, Costa, MSC, HAL,Princess and Cunard. Princess is our least favorite, the quality of service, menu and food prep., recreation - you name it are OVERALL and IMHO not as good as the other lines.

But that's why there are choices-something for everyone.

If Princess had ports that are not avail. elsewhere, we would still take them - just not have high expectations.

Just got back from the Caribbean princess. I thought service was excellent in all areas. I do not, however, feel like the ship can handle all the passengers. All events were extremely overcrowded. We've done RCCl's megaships 5 times and never had problems with all the people. They have much larger venues for popular events. If I would cruise Princess again, I suppose it would be on a smaller ship. We pretty much prefer RCCL for service and entertainment.
