We are considering an Alaska cruise on Oceania. Has anyone been on one recently? What is the best veranda cabin? What are the best shore excursions? Any help will be appreciated.

We love Oceania, but have never sailed them in Alaska.
For a veranda, we like deck 6 midships. Make sure there are cabins above you.
List your ports to get excursion advice. We don't like ship's excursions, so usually plan our own.

I just returned from an Alaskan cruise with another cruise line. By far, the best excursion I went on was bear watching at Traitor's Cove out of Ketchikan with Island Wings Air Service. Outstanding, from beginning to end! Though I did the research before I left, I booked this tour in port at the last minute.

We have also gone on cruises on Oceana and love them. We have not been to Alaska on Oceana but would expect it to be wonderful.

WE are just starting to make our plans for an Alaskan cruise next year. Any help will be appreciated.

Which month has the best weather for the Alaska cruises?

Best chance of "better" weather is from mid June to mid August.
The temperature will be warmer but the summer is their rainy season so cloudy sky and scatter shower is very common.
