Need the lowdown on GC
Hi we'll be in Grand Cayman this Dec. and I would love to get the lowdown on what it to be expected when our ship docks. And any advise on what to do while there. I will be with child in stroller so I could really use some good advice and suggestions.

We had a stop in GC on Celebrity cruise in February. Transportation to Island was via tenders. At tender dock there was a nice little downtown area with shops, restaurants - all very tourist oriented; and a zillion banks.
We had booked a cruiseline excursion to Sting Ray City, snorkeling and then lunch on a beach. There was a couple on this excursion with a little kid - they took turns getting in water at Sting Ray City and snorkeling. One could arrange to do sting ray and/or snorkeling trip on your own as well.
I do not know of any beaches in walking distance of downtown. but as mentioned above cruisecritic would be a place to start.

Hi Teresa,
A few years ago I took my grandson then 4 to the butterfly farm. It was beautiful and he had a ball when the butterflies landed on his hand. I also took him on glass bottom boat tour and he saw hundreds of fish. Downside was we both got sea sick. The town is quite nice and just walking around (very safe) can be fun. Happy Sailing
