NCL Wind - Hawaii

Any experiences on the Wind on their itinerary to Hawaii? Planning to book for Feb 2003 and would like to find out if anyone has been on it and what is your experience? Thanks.

I was looking at booking the same cruise and decided against it after reading some reviews on www.cruise-addicts.com

The itinerary looks great but I think the ship is in need of an upgrade.

The Wind was cut in half in 1998 and a 130 foot section inserted. This basically took a poorly designed, old and trashy ship and made it a longer poorly designed, old and trashy ship. Unless you they pay you to sail her, don't.

Dear Margarite,

We sailed the wind from Tahiti to Hawaii on March 17, 2002. The itierary was wonderful, especially Morea and Bora Bora, but the ship is another story: We stayed in an owner suite and the service was the worst we have ever encountered. The staff were rude and unproffessioanal. No wonder they give you 3 bottles of booze, so that you might be drunk for most of the evenings. I felt sorry for the captain when i talked to him i soon found out that he would rather be sailing the Norway. By the way the food was the worst also unless you like your daily choice of mortadella and bologna on the buffet line in the sports bar
You will enjoy the ports of call, but the ship will be a 100% disapointment

Pete
What a shame. Ten years ago NCL was one of the best cruise lines. It's very sad. Even if they raised their prices $100 pp they should have enough money to hire quality staff, purchase better food and have a maintenance department that works 24/7. And especially hire a capable bridge crew. I do feel sorry for the captains.

According to Parrotmom, who sails to Bermuda just about every year, the Majesty is a quality older ship. And it only ran aground once.

Paul
