Bahamas or W. Caribbean in February

We will be 5 (grandparents in 60's), parents in 30-40's and a baby boy of 2. We love the ocean, and wondering what kind of water temperatures to expect in February. Will the waters in Bahamas being the Atlantic Ocean be cold? How about the W. Carib.--ports of Grand Cayman, Ocho Rios on Carnival Destiny or Roatan and Cozumel with the Celebrity.
Which Ship is better for a family?
Bahamas - RCL Majesty of the Seas;
W. Caribbean - Celebrity Millenium or
W. Caribbean - Carnival Destiny
It will be the first time for our son-in-law. Our daughter has cruised previously with us on the RCL to Mexico and Golden Princess to S. Caribbean. Any suggestions for a family fun time in chosing the right ship and the right itinerary for February will be welcome.

cruiscritic.com for honest recent reviews on all your ships
but Western Carib warmer tonne of fun for me no matter which
ship you choose in winter. Carnival is more of a family line
and usually cheaper than Celebrity for me.

The Bahamas will be cool in February. We have been going to Mexico in December for years. The pools are too cool to swim in, but the ocean temps are fine. For warmer weather try an itiniary in the Southern or Eastern Caribbean.

What's the price difference between Carnival and Celebrity? I'm not a fan of Carnival. Too partish and kid friendly. Celebrity attracts more of an older mature crowd. It depends on what kind of atmosphere you are comfortable with.

Thank you qwovadis and KVR for your response. I totally forgot to mention that we are only doing a 4 or 5 day itinerary, and as much as we'd love to do the E. or the S. Carib. with time restraints can't. We are coming to Orlando,FL from Los Ang., CA for a family wedding and just want a little add on at the end of the trip. My grandson loves the water but the water here in the Pacific Ocean is too cold. I think per your suggestion we'll go to W. Carib, and select a ship that fits our budget and timing. Thank you again.

Carribbean over Bahamas anytime of the year. More choices, and much cheaper.
