Itinerary dilemma--please help!

Greetings:

I'm planning a cruise in January, and I'm having difficulty choosing between itineraries. I'm planning on going Carnival (I'm addicted to the large rooms/balconies for the price). Ships are all new, cabins & price about equal, but I'm having a hard time deciding which would be the best trip.

Two priorities are: "outdoor adventure" (rafting, biking, hiking, horseback riding, nature, ruins, some snorkeling) and minimal hassles (no long bus rides).

Not as interested in current culture, shopping, beaches.

I've been having trouble getting cruise-specific info. about the destinations.

Here are my options:

7 day:
Key West
Belize City
Cozumel
Progroso

8 day:
Belize city
Limon, Costa Rica
Colon, Panama

7 day:
Ocho Rios
Grand Cayman
Cozumel

Can you help?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Bob,

I would tend to agree with Robert but I woule ask your travel agent to send you the Carnival shore tour information and you will see what is offered in each port.

Enjoy,

Paul

Thanks to everyone for their input. With 3 votes out of 4 for Ocho Rios/Grand Cayman/Cozumel (plus a bigger, newer boat and slightly better flight options)that's the one we opted for. A very close call (Belize cave tubing sounds incredible) but I think we'll give Belize and Limon another year to work out the kinks on servicing cruise ships.

Thanks again for taking the time, and good luck!
Yes, Belize will be one of the great ports of the future. Poor Limon has been banging around for years and although there are some really nice ecological tours the port is not one of the greatest.

Paul

Check the price and itinerary on the Norwegian Sun. It offers an exotic Western Caribbean routing and it's a new ship. Good prices when I booked it.
It goes to Belize, Roatan Bay Honduras, Cozumel and Grand Cayman.

Another alternative would be the RCCL Explorer that does Labadee, Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel out of Miami. We sailed her on the Eastern and I don't think you can beat the ship for what she offers - spacious cabins, ice skating shows (and you can skate also at various times), rock climbing, a wonderful Promonade that reminds me of Main Street in small town USA, great service and better than average food quality.

There's Dunn River Falls in Jamaica, Sting Ray City in the Caymans, great snorkeling in Cozumel (and good prices on gold) and just plain relaxing in Labadee (we did the wave runners and it was a blast).
