After deciding to not take a Baltic cruise in June due to the Ukraine situation, we are now considering the Celebrity Silhouette 11 night (Venice, Dubrovnik, Rome, Naples, Split) or the 11 night Celebrity Reflection (Rome, Istanbul, Santorini, Athens) The prices are the same. I hate hot weather and this would be the last week in June til July 5.
Which of these itineraries would be less hot?

Why? The Ukraine borders the Black Sea. The Baltic should not be an issue.

Jacketwatch, Do you feel this is a non-issue, there wouldn't be any problems touring St Petersburg? I appreciate any thoughts...

Absolutely none and June is the best time to go. The political issue is now in the Crimean peninsula. Look at a map. That's way south of SPB. I would go w/o hesitation. No way the Ukraine invades Russia.

We took a Med cruise on the Celebrity Constellation in Oct. round trip out of Istanbul. Loved the Constellation. Celebrity is a class act

Hot in the Mediterranean for sure and the Celebrity Silhouette 11 night (Venice, Dubrovnik, Rome, Naples, Split) could be slightly cooler but not really by much.

We took a similar itinerary last summer in August and all I can say is HOT HOT HOT. 90F+ daily.

Larry is right, Ukraine invades Russia? Not likely, and NATO or the US wouldn't want to be any part of it.

Only potential issue would be US leverage the situation with Sanctions and the Russian retaliate with visa restrictions. I can't see them doing it as it's money going into the government's pocket though tourism.
