Ft. Lauderdale Hotel near Port Everglades?

Looking for a hotel for one night in January for a pre-cruise stay. We want something with a balcony (even a tiny one is OK). Complimentary shuttle to Port Everglades would be a nice plus. Thank you.

Andy, are you thinking of a different hotel? I called Amerisuites and they said that none of their rooms have balconies.
????????

petlover-

my mistake -i did not read balcony...
but they do have the shuttle and bkfst...

one that we stayed at was the Hyatt Pier 66-- They DO have balconie but NO shuttle ( it was a $5 cab ride) and NO free bkfst..but the views were awesome.
Have stayed there many time but it is NOT cheap...rooms run about $149 in season if you can get it on Priceline-normal prices are well over $200..........

Embassy Suites rooms have a small balcony and so did ours on Marriott Mariana (not sure if they all do). On the Marriott - it was more of a sliding door that opened up fully. The balcony on Embassy Suites was also small.

Embassy Suites has a free shuttle and so does Marriott Mariana - though I wouldn't make this a requirement since a cab is only $5 or $7.

Embassy Suites has a free breakfast, Marriott doesn't.

Theresa, from my research those are actually my 2 favorite hotels. I want the balcony primarily for ventillation. I found out that many of the hotels have windows that don't open!!

We just stayed at a very special, small inn called The Pillars. It has balconies, overlooking the intercoastal. They have a precruise package with transportation. It is a little more than the Hyatt, but well worth it!

You can go to their website---The Pillars, and also go to Tripadvisor.com.

You won't be sorry. Actually, while down there, we checked out the Hyatt and the new Marriot ($400/nt). We thought we made the best decision.

We always stay @ the FLL Marriott Marina (not a new one); in the morning you can look out & see the ships as they are coming in (if you get up early) or at their piers. It adds to the excitement! It's only a few $$ cab ride to the port. Don't know about the "new Marriott"...there is the Harborbeach Marriott on the beach...its not new tho.
