ParrotMom and all others---your advice is great on transatlantic and yes I agree December is too late in the season or Celebrity's trip looks great.
Will consider Star Flyer (par of the Royal Clipper group---still haven't heard from anyone who has done that one---and would still like other recommendations). Has anyone been to Turkey and Greece in late October---what was weather like--bring summer whites? swimming, etc?
Also, am still eager to hear from others who have or are considering a Round the World Cruise?

Our first cruise was for the Millenium on Rennaissance (now Oceania) in the Eastern Med. We were in Athens just after Christmas and Istanbul just after New Years. Weather in Athens, HOT. Mild in Istanbul. The entire cruise was warm and sunny. So I would imagine Oct. would be great too.
I think Oceania has the best food, and the best service and like it much better than any of the larger ships we have been on.

TRAVELFOREVER-I'll take your word about the beginning of December being rather late, BUT the itineraries for all three Celebrity ships is quiet unusual..and following my motto..."its the ports that make a cruise, not the ship" I'm still tempted...If I remember to take my ginger tablets and Sturgeron I maybe able to weather the day at sea..For me the maximum would be their 17 day cruise on the Century...last year when we did 17 days plus a pre-cruise...couldn't wait to get off the ship and come home....so maybe 14 days is what I should look for.. As for possibly rough seas...well, life isn't like a flat ocean...is it..and I guess we all have to take chances..lol and at this stage in my life...what do I have to loose..lol
