We are also starting to plan our first cruise to Alaska and are considering this same iterary. I would be interested in info on best cabin location-we want a balcony, but want a location that is quiet-not near restaurants or other noisy places(we are light sleepers). Also which deck is best to avoid seasickness?

It sounds from your previous post that you need to sail from Seattle. If so, then this cruise would be a good choice.

We sailed out of Seattle two years ago and it was a perfect day. I can still see the incredible image of Mt Rainier dominating the landscape over Seattle. Hope you have good weather too.

HAL ships are all very nice. You will enjoy the cruise and it doesn't get too rough on the Inside Passage route while the SF to Seattle one could be a little dicey.

This is a great itinerary. IF you only want Glacier Bay viewing, from your cabin, you need a port side however. The best views are worth going out on deck. Sitka is a gem my top pick here are the independent boat tours.

Thank you for your encouraging comments Otis_B_Driftwood and BudgetQueen. We have a pair of binoculars and plan to get another one before our cruise. I continue to receive quotes from my request on cruisecomplete.com and continue to price on various websites. We have our air, using mileage and plan to make a decision soon on who to book the cruise portion with. Thank you ever so much!
