drugs on cruises
I like this site because people ask questions that are cruise-related but not always specific to just one ship. Such responses can help many people in the future (not just the people who cruise on one particular ship)

Anyway, I was wondering whether any cruise ships allow the soft drugs such as pot? I figure that the ships are not in America, so the American laws do not apply. Plenty of places in the world tolerate pot. So can I smoke some pot on a cruise, or will I have to keep it in my cabin?
Think long and hard about it. A group of guys getting back on the ship in Ochos Rios got popped with some mushrooms in April.

Some folks we partied with from Canada brought pot with them, but left it in their cabin. On the last day at sea, they threw their pipe overboard.

In New Orleans, they had dogs sniffing luggage after we got back.

Buy a little dope in Jamaica and smoke it there. I wouldn't take the chance.

Bottom line is not whether we enjoy it or not, just how much jail time he will serve if caught.

As I see it the only difference between pot and alcohol is how much time you get.

I used to smoke a lot when I was younger. Now I have responsibilty. I still even back then, wouldn't have run the risk of being busted in a foreign country.

Abstain for a while. That first gurgle will be even sweeter when you get back

Yes Victor, many passengers bring their pot on-board. I have even smelled it on a Celebrity ship.

After the last large drug-bust on the Royal Caribbean Nordic Empress I would not advise bringing any.

Do not take the chance of getting thrown off the ship.

Paul
