We have cruised on both lines, and they are comparable in many ways, such as decor, service, atmosphere, daytime activities. The food was better on Celebrity, the entertainment was better on Princess. We preferred the Personal Choice dining option on Princess to the traditional set dinner times on Clebrity, although that option is also available on Princess.

Food on our Golden Princess cruise May 26th was FAR better than on our Zenith cruise last November (my first and probably last on Celebrity).

We too have sailed on both. Have enjoyed the quality of the food and service more on the Celebrity ships we have been on.

Sailed on Celebrity twice (Century & Mercury in the Carribean). Sailed Princess once (Princess Dawn in Alaska).

Both are upperscale compared to competition. I prefer Celebrity based on better food, decor, service and as another person had posted, "announcement free".

Princess has better entertainment and larger rooms.

We recently cruised to Hawaii with Celebrity and found it very lacking when compared to Princess. I have cruised 5 times with Princess and never have we been disappointed. We would NEVER cruise with Celebrity again. Indifferent employees, food that was just ok, nothing that lived up to it's promises.

celebrity two timer, booked for a third. wonderful food no complaints - excellent service. If we had asked our server to cut up our food for us and feed it to us - he would gladly have done it! My husband was ill for two days on last cruise (not cruise related) and our cabin attendant took complete care of him, without being asked, so that I could still enjoy some of the events on board. Have not been on princess - have heard good things, though. Tough choice - do one now and one later and compare for yourself. Good luck with whichever you choose.

We have sailed twice with Princess (Grand and Sea) and three times with Celebrity (Mercury, Galaxy and Summit). They are both very good cruise lines, but we prefer Celebrity. Our experiences have proven that Princess is lacking in both the level of service and overall cleanliness. Food wise they are pretty even, however I hate the layout of the buffet on Princess. Celebrity is a little more formal and expects passengers to stay in their dressy attire on formal and semi-formal nights. Some people love this feature, but we think it's silly and kind of a annoying. One odd thing we've found is that we ALWAYS make friends on our Celebrity cruises, but haven't had the same type of luck on either of our Princess cruises. Can't explain that! Pick two ships with similar dates and itineraries and the same type of cabin and go with the one that's cheaper. Either way, you should have a great time.

Been on Princess 11 times since 1975.
Went to Alaska once on Celebrity, never again.

Much prefer Princess. Better food, better entertainment, better daytime shipboard activities, better service, better everything. There is no comparison between the two.
