Best time to book Royal Caribbean cruise for best price?

Hi! Newbie here, ive been on Royal Caribbean Allure of the seas in 2014
- awesome. We are planning new cruise trip to fall of 2018. The cruises are just open to be booked, but is it like booking flights -> the sooner the better? Or should I wait, and for how long?

Thank you for any advice! <3

I think, in general, prices adjust as sales proceed. In my own experience with Cunard, I booked the least expensive fare and found that as time went on the company offered lower prices to fill the ship. So I was able to upgrade significantly at a lower price than my original purchase.

Before you make a decision, check RC's policy and see if you can take advantage of any price drops after purchase, then watch their site or sign up for fare alerts. This would apply, I assume, only when the purchase is made directly with RC, rather than through a 3rd party or discounter, unless the agent tells you otherwise.

We signed up in March 2017 for a Celebrity March 2018 Caribbean cruise which we think is a great deal. The price has since gone up $500 pp for the type stateroom and perks we chose.

Big "however", in our past experience, prices may drop again immediately inside the 90-day window because people can cancel up to 90 days before the cruise with deposits refunded.

MmePerdu's advice is also very good because prices may stay the same but packages may change, example may be gratuities paid, free wi-fi, etc.

Thanks a lot! Good points. c: Im interested of those drink package discounts or free wifi, but I have never seen such discounts on RCs site... Now im thinking how much can I assume the price to be at the lowest? The crusies for the 7-nights are as low as 730 dollars now, can I even think that the price will drop from that? I mean like, what could be the good deal? Of course that ~700 dollars are for the cheapest stateroom, and my prefered stateroom would cost like a hundred more but anyway...
Any thoughts, what is the lowest price you have seen?

This community is so helpful! <3 I think Ihave to buy one of those "I love cruising" cups once I get on board. =D

You can never know what the lowest price will be. You can only make a decision based on buying at a price you can live with. If you do want to buy your cruise, make a decision with that in mind and enjoy looking forward to it, not worrying that you might have saved a few dollars.

Exactly, it's always a bit of a crap shoot. Based on the prices you're quoting, I can't imagine them going much lower in the future for your cruise.

We know the minimum acceptable stateroom for us. I'm mildly claustrophobic and also like to be able to open the door to a balcony to sleep in fresh air. We would rather take fewer cruises than book an inside, lower deck stateroom. For others, it doesn't bother them at all and they think we're nuts.

RC's newer, larger ships have some inside staterooms which look out on to the public area.
