I'd imagine that even in August you would have plenty of light. What was really neat was looking at the wake from Skywalkers at 0200 or so in the early morning hrs. It was sort of like seeing nignt end and day begin. BTW the G-10's are on the way. I tried Taylors-mades and Titelists as well but the Pings gave me much better feel and trajectory. The shafts are steel like mine now but are lighter as the technology is alot better in the 6 yrs. since I got my last set. The Ping 7 seems to go as far as my own 6. Can't wait! Cheers, Larry

hello Percy & jacketwatch, I have a question about disbarking in Copenhagen. My flight home is not until 7:30pm so I have the whole day in Copenhagen but no hotel. i have heard there is a cruise center at Magasin at Kogens Nytorv? Is this true and what is this place exactly? If I arrange for a Princess transfer to the airport, will it leave from here or from the dock? Also do you know what the latest time is to be off the ship? thanks so much!! i just really need a place to keep my bag for the day where I can get my transfer to the airport later in the day

Sorry, I can't help with that. If your ship gets in quite early, like ours did you will probably have to be out of the cabin fairly early too. They need time to turn it around for the next cruise which is probably later that day. We once got a day room at a hotel (in Papeete) under similar circumstances and this suited us very well. Is this possible for you? If so the comfort factor is worth it. I think Percy is on safari now BTW.

Just found your Baltic report Percy. Could you tell me how to get in touch with your Copenhagen tour guide? We are going on a Baltic cruise on the Star Princess in June 2010.

Thank you Percy. I just emailed her for information on a tour like yours. We arrive at 9:05 a.m. by air on June 20, 10 at CPH and board the Star Princess the next day for a 7 p.m. sailing. My husband and I have been to Copenhagen before on a previous Princess cruise. We took a ship tour then. Now, I'm much more adventuresome and realize we can save money by doing it on our own. We are also traveling with our son and his wife this time.
Thanks again for the posts and info. They're a great help for all. Travelsumama

Well if you have been to Copenhagen before then ,if you book Grethe, have her take you out of town to Frderiksborg, then Fredenborg ( Home of Royal Family) and then to Kronborg Castle and

Come back to Copenhagen via the " Copenhagen Riviera".

Stop off at the Karen Blixen Place if you want. It is on your way back

Have a good Time

Make sure you say Hi to Grethe for me.

If you want a picture of Grethe and me ,then e-mail me at

[email protected]

Percy--
I have spoken to Grethe and emailed several times. We have a tour set up for the 4 of us. It sounds like we will be doing the same tour as you, including the lunch at her home. Thanks again for the information.
I also have another question. I've read a lot about people on Princess cruises who have independent tours in St. Petersburg. They talk about having trouble getting off of the ship before the Princess tours. They say that Princess is spouting propaganda to ensure the ships tours get off before the independents do. Have you heard of this? Do you have some information?

Hi Susan :

Well you read my trip report and you know how easy it was for

me to get off the cruise ship when I arrived at St. Petersburg.

I have heard that Princess attempts to hold people back until their ship tour guest have disembarked.

It never happened on our ship!

I was booked with Alla Tours and they were very prompt and waiting for me at 7 AM !!!!

Just get off as early as you can, IF anyone gives you and hassle , tell them you have a Russian Company Tour Guide waiting for you....

I doubt they would tell you that you cannot disembark , when you only have 5 more feet to walk to get off the cruise ship .!!

Have a great time

Oh Yes, Please say Hi to Grethe for me !

Wait till you see Grethe's lovely Country Cottage Home !!!

Thank you.
