Bad cabin - I think we're stuck with it

Jan. 15, Jewel Cabin#8662 70% obstructed view balcony(guarantee, won't do that again!)My T/A "s Mother just passed away and I just can't keep calling her so I'm trying on my own to change our cabin. No luck. The ship is full. What makes it worse - we're in a group and nobody will talk to me. Maybe we'll just make due since this is our 24th cruise and I don't want anyone else getting stuck with this cabin. I've called RCCL, their customer servcie and also the group dept. Anyone else ever run into this- is a 70% obstructed view really that bad?

Since you went the "guarantee" route, YOU agreed to accept ANY cabin in your cat or higher. This is how it works. You probably won't have any luck changing this cabin with a full ship.

Unless you have a balcony, you won't be spending much time in your cabin - lots of great things to do. Have fun!!

Think positive - 30% is unobstructed ! We had an obstructed cabin in Alaska and it was fine - there was light in the cabin and we could see if we looked toward the front.

We did not want to see AK from our cabin anyway-wanted to be on the outside decks. So, wherever you are going, it'll be fine.

Budget Queen is correct. When you agree to a guarantee, you're agreeing to the worse cabin within that category! I suspect, it will be fine. It's amazing what we get used too....after the first day, any obstruction will go away and you'll be content.

Will this be your 24th cruise with Royal Caribbean? If so, you may have better luck checking on cancelations or no-shows after the ship leaves port. Even if you never cruises with Royal Caribbean it's the only chance you'll get to change your cabin. Good luck. I'll be on the Jewel 2/26/05

Sonny, this will be our 21st cruise with RCCL and since we're diamond we thought we'd have a good cabin. Customer service said that all "guarantee's" are put into a hopper and they have no idea what statis you are. I still think they'll be cancelations but if not -- we'll still have a great time. Amazing how much I have learned.
