Hi Bruno,

The other port on the eastern itinerary is San Juan. The only negative to this itinerary is that you are only in San Juan in the evening. Not much to do or see. You could window shop or go to the main square where there may be musical entertainment. The Wyndam Hotel across the street has an outside cafe and inside there is a great band and singers in the casino/bar. Also the ship has an on-deck party which is fun and the food is good.

The only negative to the western itinerary is the aggressiveness of the natives in Jamaica. They are not dangerous and you can joke around with them. Even if you go on the ship's tours they will follow you and try to sell you something. Just a firm "no" will send them away.

All the other ports are fine.

Paul

I have been on both the western and eastern caribbean.
the western itinerary included grand cayman, definetely the best island so far, and cozumel.
the eastern included st thomas, st maarten, and the bahamas.
I personally enjoyed the western itinerary much more than the eastern, dispict the fact that the ship on the eastern itinerary was 10 times better than the one i used on the western trip.
I'll go with the Western !!!

Have been on the Grand Princess and the Golden Princess. Both Eastern cruises. If you like to scuba do the western. If you like to see more mountains in the caribbean and better scenary I would do the Eastern cruise.
To me Carnival sucks.... I've been on the Fantasy 3 times. Liked the Fantasy ok. Did the Triumph. The Triumph sucked. The ship was nice but the food and service sucked.
Princess is the best.
If you like Las Vegas, and like to party go on Carnival.
Check with www.cruisecritic.com to get reviews.
Check buycruises.com for prices.
