Princess - the Sea Princess out of San Juan, I believe, is the second best ship sailing the Southern routes (Adventure of the Seas first) and has the best itinerary - Aruba, Carcass (not so good, admittedly - but you take the bad with the good), Grenada, Dominica and St. Thomas. You can book several different weeks this fall for as low as $499 incl port charges. Best deal going.

Good to hear Peter - especially since I had you pegged as an RCL man. We are doing the exact cruise you described Thanksgiving week.....can't wait! We did another Southern in April 2000 on Celebrity. It went to St Croix (don't bother), St Lucia, Barbados, Antigua and St Thomas. All the ports except St Croix were great. This was a good itinerary on a great cruiseline. Enjoy!

Lenore,

I completely agree with you about Celebrity. We went on the exact itinery on the Galaxy ship and it was incredible. Celebrity staffs 2 for every 1 guest which is great. They are also known not to pack in the cabins and provide more public places. I was able to find a quiet place to read and it was a day when we were at sea. Truly an incredible experience.
