Antarctica Medical Evacuation Insurance?

My husband is making this trip on his own (I've scheduled a root canal for that time), and I've been checking out the medical evac rates (which is all we want; our med insur is worldwide coverage.) As I checked the sites, it didn't seem that any of the companies would cover evacuation from the cruise boat. The sponsor of the cruise recommends MedJet, but they seem to demand you be hospitalized somewhere before they'll move you somewhere else. Any words of wisdom? Thank you.

You may want to look at this website:

http://www.insuremytrip.com/

There is a special section for Medial Evac Insurance: http://www.insuremytrip.com/myquotec...00-0-0-43.html

I would call some of the vendors. I would think most would cover from a ship as the regular travel insurance usually covers this.

I would guess most will bring you to the closest hospital as if you are being air evaced - you would most likely need immediate care.
