Amadeus Russian River Cruise

Has anyone taken the Amadeus waterways 14-day cruise on the Tolstoy? Any comments, esp. regarding which type of room to book, would be appreciated.

I am taking this cruise in May.

As far as what type of cabin to book - you may want to call them if you want to sail this year. My cruise in May only has suites available - these ships fill up quickly. When I booked in October, I didn't have many choices.

Though I believe they are opening up their 08 sailings in February /March.

from a friend...Amadeus is a high end cruise line. Wines included with dinner. Staff very good and ships new. The food is also quite good.

We've taken two river cruises and asked for the port side, so, as you go down the river you'll be on the river side and able to see all the river traffic, plus the other side of the river.

The higher deck and location of your stateroom on the ship is better. The lower staterooms are not much less expensive, but you may see feet and dock outside of your window while in port. Lower deck staterooms often have smaller windows and views of the river are more obstructed.
