Alaska Excursions from Princess

For a June southbound trip from Whittier to Vancouver on Princess, I'm seeking feedback about shore excursion offerings. Is the Ketchikan zipline a heart stopper? What about wildlife rafting in Skagway? Or the Juneau Mendenhall Glacier? And the Skagway White Pass Summit? Princess has a three port package for $155 per person that includes Mendenhall and White Pass, so don't know if that's a good price. Or is it better to book directly with local operators? Thanks for help.

We had friends who took the zipline in Ketchikan and absolutely loved it. I wouldn't classify it as a "heart stopper," but (from their pictures) it was fun and exhiliarating.

We wished that we had more time at Mendenhall Glacier, and this time are taking the bus out there and doing it on our own vs. a package tour (Mendenhall/whale watch/salmon back) that gave us less than an hour.

We also did the White Pass Summit railroad - there may be a couple different versions of this excursion, we did the one where it was a long train-only experience. The scenery was beautiful, but we got tired of sitting on the old wooden seats and nothing else.

We went with Dyea Dave last August to the Yukon and White pass Summit- in his van. Much more flexibility stopping and much cheaper. Great reviews on tripadvisor.

We just booked a 3 hour White Pass Summit Train trip. Its 20 miles and he said you see the best parts, plus you aren't sitting all day long on a train. It leaves at 8:15 and 12:45. Here is the # 800-343-7373

Thanks for feedback, especially warning about too-long train ride to White Pass Summit. To brodovsky, we booked the one you suggested which works best for us. Also curious about any experiences with Ketchikan shore excursions under $200 per person.
