Which island would you pick...

for a honeymoon? We are looking for some sort of night life (nothing glitzy though by any means), beautiful beaches and clear water for diving. Our choices are...

Anguilla, St. Barts, BVI and Grand Cayman.

St. John. Wonderful island, beautiful beaches, (crystal clear), quaint town for shopping and restaurants. Great snorkeling. Very clean island.

We went on our honeymoon and met many more who agreed, it was great just beautiful!!!!

Congratulations!

XYZ-

I know you mentioned BVI's but wanted to also give her another option. St. Barts then is very beautiful. We still peferred St. John. Both would be our preference, especially for a honeymoon.

Agree that St. John is absolutely beautiful but if nightlife is important you may not be happy there. Grand Cayman is probably the only place that meets all your criteria. They have great beaches, diving and snorkeling. The landscape doesn't hold a candle to most of the Virgin Islands though.

I think that GC would cover it for you with the beaches and diving, but not a dream vacation for nightlife. No great resorts and not a very good value, either.

Virgin Gorda is typical Carribean in my opinion. The resort hotels and beaches (in particular Little Dix Bay) are beautiful. The rest of the island is dry and poverty stricken. Not much in the way of night life. Diving is great.

I'd think you'd need to go to a more populated island to find any sort of night life at all.
Snoopy, please go back in your doghouse.
Virgin Gorda is not "dry and poverty stricken".
The beaches are gorgeous and the island is very green, not dry and scrubby. The local population does not have the same standard of living as Greenwich CT but to use the term "poverty stricken" is a gross exageration.
