Which is less likely to have construction issues?

Trying to decide between Renaissance, Sands, Le Vele or Ocean Club. Will be traveling April 2005. I will be traveling with an infant so looking for a nice suite, laid-back with washer/dryer and kitchen!

We just got back from the Sands. There was no construction close enough for us to see or hear. When we walked the beach we saw lots of it, but it is not close to the hotel at all. We went with our 1 & 2 year olds. It is a great place for babies, there were lots of them there. The suites are very nice & the kitchen is great with a full washer/dryer. The grounds are great for strollers, nice & flat with nice shady paths. Restaurant is very kid/baby friendly and you can get food service around the pool as well. Also they had real full size cribs, not pack n plays like most hotels.

I am leaving next month and booked The Sands because I thought there wouldn't be too many kiddies! I was looking for Romance. Is it mostly families?

We have stayed at the Sands the past two years and in February. There were children there but certainly not in the majority partly because here in the states school is in session. They tended to stay mostly in the pool area and not many on the beach at all and very few in the restaurants except for the family type places like the Tiki Hut.I think you will be very happy with your choice.

Was there at Villa Renaissance in Dec 04 with an 8-month old. Development next door at the Regent Grand is not slated for some time. Not sure about the expansion plans for VR itself. Also, I don't recall any noise from the Seven Stars development at the old Allegro site.

Le Vele is new without any neighboring construction.

The beach-front development of The Village project has not really started next to the Sands. The units furthest away from the beach may be subjected to the inland-development portion of The Village, but I doubt it.

Ocean Club West definitely has the worst current noise level on Grace Bay with construction on both sides (Pinnacle and Grace Bay Club developments). Ocean Club guests will not suffer any construction noise until The Tuscany development goes into effect, which shouldn't be for a while. But the loud speakers at Club Med next door in the evenings may prove to be disturbing. I could hear the commotion all the way from our balcony at VR. Inquire with recent guests of Ocean Club or Royal West Indies if they heard noise from within their suites. I wouldn't want my baby to wake up in the evening due to Club Med.
