Which Caribbean island for landlubbers?

We’re looking for a Caribbean island for a long weekend getaway. We’re seasoned travelers, have been all over the world, and are fairly active, but have never set foot on a Caribbean island. We are non-swimmers and will not be getting into the water. Our interests are history, culture, museums, gardens, wildlife, the outdoors (on land), good food, and interesting shops. Is there somewhere you would recommend? Thanks.

Puerto Rico has everything on your wish list. If going for a long weekend base yourself in the San Juan area.

Puerto Rico is also what I thought of when I read your post. Lots of history and you can hike in the rain forest

Willemstad, Curaçao, a UNESCO World Heritage site. There's quite a lot to see on the Island as well as the architecture in the capital.
