Westin St. John room advice

I'm planning a trip to the Westin (2 people) for early November 2004 using Starwood points. Can anyone share specific info on preferred buildings, floors, and views for the Westin? I've seen recommendations for bldg 21 in the past. Thanks in advance.

Hi.
If you haven't already, do a search on this forum.
My comments are out there...we really enjoyed the ground-floor room with patio.
Enjoy.

I'd stay clear of the "hillside buildings". I think we were in building 25??? The rooms are fine and nice view of the bay, but it's a bit of an uphill hike to get there from anywhere else (pool, beach, tennis, parking, etc).

Is it worth an extra $60 a day to upgrade to a pool or beach room from a gardenview room?

Thanks tjcm and MIG. Apparently, there are oceanview, poolview, gardenview rooms, some "deluxe" and some "standard". Also patio vs. balcony. Plenty to choose from if available. Would like to stay close to the pool and beach and avoid those hills.

FYI: Another poster emailed me and said to "save my money" and don't worry about which room. They are all nice enough.

We recently stayed in building 24, top floor - up on the hill - theoretically a garden view but we had a great view of the bay. The hill is not that big a deal for healthy adults and older kids, and the Westin does have shuttle carts that run every 5 to 15 minutes if you don't want to make the climb. The villas on the other side of the road (and further up on the hill)... those might be a different story, as that would be a serious hike to the main pool or beach or tennis courts... but again the shuttles do run up to the hillside villas as well. I personally wouldn't pay extra for a pool view
