Wanted: beaches/sailing/spa
Fellow travellers,
wasn't able to do a honeymoon as my schedule as an intern didn't allow me the time this past summer. Thus, I will be taking my belated honeymoon this February. We are looking to go somewhere in the Caribbean. Looking for the following in a resort: nice beaches, availability to go out in hobicat/sunfish/etc, a spa for the wife, and all in all a beautiful place.
all and any suggestions would be most appreciated.
thank you.

How much are you planning to spend? How important is it that the resort have nightlife or a casino? Is shopping important? Do you care about exploring the island culture, nature walks, or snorkeling? Does it matter if you need to drive to restaurants or do you want to do everything at the resort? The more information you provide, the more helpful will be our suggestions.

cost isn't took much of a problem: total trip around $4,000 most likely- wouldn't mind to spend less.
Don't need casino or shopping. Will rent a car if necessary, but want to be able to have a great beach, amenities available at the resort. While my wife and I love hiking, as well as more culture, etc. we are most interested in a place to relax, sit on beach, go for a sail/snorkel.
thanks

Let me offer two suggestions - the Hyatt Regency Grand Cayman and the Hyatt Regency Aruba. Both of these resorts offer everything you're looking for (great beaches, water sports, spas) and they should fall within your budget. Neither Grand Cayman or Aruba is as pretty or lush as St. Lucia but their beaches are much better. If you decide to look into either of these hotels, check to see what sort of honeymoon package they offer.

I've never been, but I've researched st. lucia and it's never been described as having good beaches.
I was looking on the recent offerings on Luxury Link, a high end site that auctions off packages to many of the top resorts. A lot of the time the packages do not get bidded on so you could get it for the minimum bid price.
Here is the link to the one that looks great- it's within the Punta Cana Resort, a very high end resort in the DR. It was designed by Oscar De La Renta and it would be for a one bedroom beachfront villa with butler service.
Take a look:

And here is the website of Tortuga Bay:

Turks and Caicos.
It's all about the beach, most beautiful anywhere.
Most resorts have hobies small sails, etc, The Palms has an incredible spa. Spa Tropique will actually travel, and give massages on the beach. The most beautiful turqiouse water you'll ever see.
similar in nature is Anguilla.
