We are planning our babymoon to St. Lucia in November and would like any recommendations for ideal locations to stay on the island, hotels, restaurants and sites.

We need more info from you in order to make meaningful suggestions.

When in November will you be traveling? - Room rates at some places will be lower in the first half of the month and higher in the second half due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

What is your budget for accommodations? That will help narrow down your choices. Please give us a dollar range rather than some nebulous term like "affordable", "won't break the bank", etc. that are meaningless without a point of reference.

St. Lucia is a fairly large island (240 sq. miles) and it would be impractical to stay in one area (say in the north) and dine or see sights at another area (say in the south). So you need to pick your resort/hotel and then look at nearby dining options and sights to see.

Do you plan to rent a car? Keep in mind you'll be driving on steep and narrow mountain roads and it can take 2 to 3 hours to get to/from some places on the island.

There are lots of great places to stay - Castries, Soufriere, or any of the small towns/beach areas on the Caribbean (western) side of the island.

What type of activities interest you and your spouse?

We will be traveling mid-November for 4 nights.
I would prefer to avoid driving too much to avoid motion sickness because of the pregnancy.
We were considering Ladera but the idea that we are not on the beach was a little disappointing although the views might make it worth it?? Thoughts?
Budget- Between $300-$400 a night; I would prefer that breakfast be included.
We are fousing on relaxing and would be interested in a day trip to any important sites we shouldn't miss while there but are not interested in action-packed days.
We are foodies and would like to enjoy the best restaurants on the island.

Be aware that TiKaye has many steps down to the beach, Anse Chastenet is quite remote along a bumpy unmade road and St James Club is not on a nice beach. Having said that, TiKaye and Anse Chastenet are beautiful properties. Although the roads can be windy and potholed in places, it doesn't take that long to get from Rodney Bay for instance to the international airport in the south. The restaurants are dotted all over the island, mostly around Rodney Bay and Marigot Bay, but alot of hotels have very good restaurants of their own.

I am from Saint Lucia and own a property there although I now live in Canada. I also visit often. Only "hwinokur" made the best recommendation based on your needs. Stay in the Rodney bay area or at landings St. Lucia as he suggested. The Soufriere area is spectacular but not for you in your condition. There are great restaurants in the Rodney Bay area and Reduit Beach is the best. Good luck. Pos a trip report afterwards.
