Virgin Gorda hotel help

Hi all,

I'm going to VG in a week and had decided to stay at Nail Bay but I didn't book on time and they don't have room for the nights I need to stay there. So I now need another place. Any recommendations?
Is Guavaberry nice? How about this place? http://www.virgingordavillage.com/
I really would like a very clean place.

Many thanks

Guavaberry is quite nice so you can count on clean rooms. Virgin Gorda Village is fairly new so here again rooms will be clean. Also check out Mango Bay Resort.

If you want upscale consider Little Dix Bay.

Thanks RoamsAround. We're also looking at Lil Blue Villa. It's in Leverick's Bay. Do you know anything about it?

Of the three you mentioned, Gauavaberry, Mango and VG Village, which do you like best?

I also saw great deals for Bitter End (and I guess includes food) but you have to take a ferry each time so we nixed that.

Sorry, don't know anything about Lil Blue villa except what I've seen on their website.

To be honest with you I've only stayed at Little Dix Bay (multiple times) and rented an upscale villa several times on Mahoe Bay (not far from the Mango Bay Resort). I've only visited friends who were staying at the other properties on your list so I can't really comment on which is "better". To me they all appear to be about the same - the differece being location - they all offer good value for the price.

Since the only requirement you mentioned in your post was for "a very clean place" all of those places will fill that bill. If you care to share more about what you like or dislike as far as accomodationsd go and what you want from an island vacation it would make it easier to steer you in the right direction.

Regarding the Bitter End Yacht Club - consider this only if you are really into the "boating set". We went there once and would never go back again - it's just not our style of resort.

Thanks. You're right, I was vague in my description. At this point I think I was just looking for a clean, nice place because it's so last minute. I booked us Lil Blue and will let you know how it is--fingers crossed! Now I have to find a place for our last night on St. Thomas. Ideas?

I had a similar feeling with Bitter End which is why we hesitated.

Many thanks for your help RoamsAround. You have given me great info in the past and I'm grateful.

I really like Marriott Morningstar, St. Thomas. Located directly on the beach amidst beautiful botanical gardens, it offers fine dining at Havanna Blue, close up views of cruise ships going in and out of Chsrlotte Amslie Harbour, lovely beachside pool and tennis courts. A great place to end a trip.

Hi,

We'll be staying right above you at Dos Sols Villa in February . . . I think you'll be happy with the North Sound area. Here's a map that will help you acclimate to where your place will be:

http://www.caribbeans.com/2villas/levmap.htm

You'll be walking distance to Leverick Bay Resort, which has great food, great Painkillers, and a fun atmosphere. You can also catch a free water taxi from here to Saba Rock for a yummy lunch, dinner or drinks. There is a food store right at Leverick Bay and also in North Sound for supplies (you can have the villa agency supply for you before you get there . . . nice to wake up the first morning with OJ and toast already there . . . not to mention cold Caribes in the fridge!)

If you've rented a 4-wheel drive, make sure to take the "back road" back to Spanish Town . . over the hills and past Nail Bay and Mahoe Bay . . . the views are AMAZING.

This will be our third time at VG. We've stayed at Nail Bay and Mahoe Bay (both wonderous) and look forward to spending more time on the North Sound this time . . . but nice to know we're only a 20 minute drive to the other side of the island (to visit The Baths and a have a Painkiiler at Mad Dogs!)
