Villas being broken into? How often does this happen??
How widespread is this??? I was just looking at the website usvi-on-line.com and there were 2 postings about the Cari-beana villas being broken into. Apparently, there are some locals that have copies of keys to these villas.
How can I know which villas are safe??? The more expensive the villa, the greater the security??
Please help!!! I already WILL NOT be taking my wedding ring with me on my honeymoon trip.

a pity not take you wedding ring on your honeymoon. Wouldn't it be on your finger all the time? We are going to somewhere where crime is rife( Rio) and I have already decided just to take costume jewellry but I wear my rings at all times so they will be coming.

A friend told me that the Cari-beana villas are located more next to Cruz Bay in SJ so it is easier for the villas there to get broken into as opposed to the villas located in the hills.
I would also be worried about losing my WRing.

Howlermonkey,
There are occasional breakins and burglary's on St John just like there are anyplace else on the planet. It's not widespread but it does happen, just like it happens occasionally in the town where you live.
Exercise reasonable caution, lock up when you go to bed at night and when you leave the villa for the daytime and don't leave money or valuables lying about and then try to relax and enjoy your honeymoon. St John is one of the safest destinations in the Caribbean but that doesn't mean crime doesn't exist. Where there are people, there is crime. That's just the real world.
