the house i want on virgin gorda is available through numerous agencies. has anyone had successful dealings with mclaughin anderson or villas caribe. if you've used another company i'd love to hear about your experience. we've usually rented through owners before...

For what it is worth, we rented a villa on Virgin Gorda through Wimco (www.wimco.com). You should know a great many of the same villas on Virgin Gorda (as well as throughout the Caribbean) are listed on numerous rental property sites - think of it like a "multiple listing service" for villas rentals. It usually doesn't matter which company you rent through because prices for a perticular villa will be the same no matter which company you rent through as they are "set by the owner" and once you arrive "on island" you'll be dealing with someone else who more than likely will not be an employee or agent of the rental company. What happens is that even though you rent the villa through your particular rental agent who probably is not located on the same island (or even sthe same country)as the villa, you will be met upon your arrival by a local property manager (it will be the same person no matter which rental company you use). That manager will be availble to assist you with any problems you may encounter during your stay.
