I posted earlier about Gallows Point, but figured I should start a new one for this. Everyone has been suggesting private villas. I've looked at some of the websites but it seems as though there are so many options, can anybody help?

It will be for our honeymoon June 5-12. We would like AC. I think we'd like to be close to Cruz Bay. Would like to be able to walk to town and ferry. But how far would this make us from any good beaches? Would love a pool maybe a hot tub too, and a hammock would be nice. Looking around $2000 or less for 7 nights.

Also, how easy is it to do things like rent a jeep or outings. I know that Gallows point resort you can go through them to book things. But if you're at a private villa, how do you go about this.

And are all the places really reputable? I feel safer booking at a resort versus a private villa, but I'm sure thats just a little paranoia.

Oh and I'd love a great view. Rather have a good sunset over a sunrise.

Forgot to mention with this and most villas you are going to need to rent a car, actually a jeep or other 4wd is recommended to really enjoy the island to get out and really explore.

check out vivactions.com or caribbeanvilla.com you can search their sites by location and price range. I know vivactions can set you up with a car rental discount, and will help you make arrangements for other activities. Also go to stjohnusvi.com and usvi.com these sites have lots of helpful info. Don't be paranoid about renting a villa unless you really want resort ammenities the villa is the way to go
