Turks and Caicos or Grand Cayman for girls trip?

I thought we had decided on Turks and Caicos for our girls trip next June, but then someone mentioned Grand Cayman. Which would you choose and why? We are looking for nice beaches, great snorkeling, time to relax, good dining, and also a little bit of nightlife (don’t need a disco, but some bars/restaurants with music would be nice). We are thinking either Coral Gardens (thanks to everyone for their advice about Coral Gardens) in T&C or the Marriott or Hyatt in Grand Cayman. I have read that there really isn’t much to do in T&C besides beaches, snorkeling and nice dinners. What about Grand Cayman? Is there any nightlife to speak of, or good restaurants? It seems Grand Cayman is more built up and more crowded than T&C? Thanks for your advice!

I would vote Grand Cayman, having been to both. There is no night life at T&C and it is definitely on 'island time', meaning very slow service. Grand Cayman has night life and the service was exceptional, we even received drinks and such on the beach [always a nice touch for me. ;o)]
We stayed at Westin. Snorkeling was also better at Grand Cayman and Stingray City is fun.

That said, I would love to go back to T&C also. It just sounds like GC has more of what you're after.

You will love either place. Have a great girls trip!

Forgot to add that I was at GC before the hurricane though so maybe snorkeling isn't as good as it once was?

I would second Grand Cayman as you get everything you want...great snorkeling (supposedly it is better since the hurricane), great beaches, great restaurants and nightlife.

I've been to both places by myself. I was in Grand Cayman this past July. I think you'll have a great time in either place but my vote would be for T&C. I think it's easier to get around and you can find as much live music at night as Grand Cayman. Plus the beache is so much prettier in Provo. If you go to Cayman the Westin is incredible!

Have been to both GC and TC. Turcs was wonderful. The beach is wonderful. Very safe and very quiet. GC has more going on during the day and night. Did not go into Georgetown. Snorkeling was better at TC, but we took a day trip. Read the hurricane has closed part of Hyatt at GC. Stayed at Beach Club West. Nice and quiet. Would go back to either.
