I'll be at TCI for Christmas.
All airports, especially Miami (which is required connection for most destinations) will be worse than airpot at TCI, so should destination of TCI affect your decision?
Now if you said I'm not traveling anywhere because of this I'd understand.
On another note, TCI is extremely popular during that time and filling fast. (I know of many places booked months ago already)
So you better decide fast. I went through this process in Aug. If you can travel week days it will help. (regardless of the destination)

There is crime on every island that we've ever visited. There's also plenty of crime right here at home. If you don't want to visit Provo, leave it for the rest of us. But please stop giving out information that isn't even current on a public forum. EDITORS??

Fourteen, they caught them, are currently in custody awaiting trial.
The travel advisory is from Bahamas Embassy, IF it was from US then people need to start worrying.
This advisory is no longer current, as they've been caught.
No one deserves to be a victim. We all give advice to make imformative choices.
I just don't get what stirring up old news (such as fourteen bringing up last week on crime that happened 5 years ago) do any good other than just stir it up.
Read the papers. Check to make sure your resort or villa has locks, safes, alarms. USE THEM Don't walk at night. Don't leave bags unattended at the beach. Don't leave items in a car.
If uncomfortable, decide not to go. You won't find a place where nothing is guarenteed to happen.
Or decide to go because you won't be a "hostage" to terrorism.
Don't let your guard down just because it's a beautiful place, real people live there just like they live in everyone's hometown.

Still don't get your stirring it up when persons have been caught. (even if new ones, just use your brain)
I sound unsympathetic. I feel for it happening to just 1 person. It never should.
But stirring it up does no one any good.
And while we're all worrying about something happening, don't forget plane crashes, mosquito bites, real terrorism, sunburn, weather, noroviirus food poisoning, drinking the water, drug cartels, oh I could go on
