Tortola Favs

We are finally off to Tortola on June 9th for one week (staying at Sebastians), thanks to lots of good information on this forum. How about everyones top three favorite restaurants, beaches, and bars? I have heard Bomba Shack has a cool full moon party.

From Sebastian's, you're within easy walking distance of the restaurants at Long Bay resort and the Sugar Mill Hotel, as well as the local Coco Plum's. You're a long walk away from Palm's Delight, which is another local restaurant about 15 minutes's walk on the other side of the Sugar Mill (LOVED our meal here--great roti and ginger wine chicken). And a short drive away from Bananakeet's, which has great views at sunset.

We loved Smuggler's Cove, though we thought the snorkeling was overrated there. It's a short drive from Sebastian's. And when we were there, an enterprising local had set up a small beach bar that we loved. Even had blender drinks that ran off his car battery.

I second ejcrowe's restaurant suggestions and will add that you should snorkel at Brewers Bay. We loved it and it's got a nice little cafe. It's on the other side of Cane Garden Bay, just go up the hill through CGB and turn left at the intersection.

We enjoyed it and were usually the only ones there.

Peace, Greenie

Restaurants:
Palm's Delight
Bananakeet
Beaches:
Long Bay East (Beef Island)-bring all your own refreshments
Brewer's Bay
Long Bay West (for the picture perfect scenery - not the swimming or the snorkelling)

Bars:
Sebastians (when Lover Boys are there)
Quito's - the best
Bomba's for Full Moon at least once for the sheer entertainment value. (You gotta be able to say "been there, done that, got the mug!)

I would take the ferry on over to Jost Van Dyke for some painkillers at the Soggy Dollar on White Bay! That has got to be THE perfect beach bar... *sigh*

I second Soggy Dollar Bar - one of the highlights of our trip. White Bay is one of the most beautiful beaches I have seen!

Have fun!

I agree with all the good suggestions that have been posted but I really felt that Bomba's was the most over-rated bar in the Caribbean. It really is for the "spring break" crowd if you know what I mean.
