taxis in antigua
my boyfriend and i are planning a trip to antigua and are trying to decide if we should rent a car or not. our hotel is in the johnson's point area. does anyone know how much taxis to and from st john's usually cost?
we are only staying for 3 days and aren't sure how much time we are going to spend exploring during the day.
thanks!

hi nyclisa78 -
3 days is not enough! But better than none, right?
I suggest renting a car for at least a day to explore around. Taxis are expensive, not really sure how much from Johnson's Point to St. John's. However St. John's is so congested anyways during the weekdays that I don't know if you would want to drive in town.
Enjoy your trip! Any other questions, just holler and we'll do our best to answer.

thanks for your help! 3 days is definitely not enough, but it is all we can take off cause we are planning a big trip over the summer.
I think we will def rent a car, it seems that the per day price would be cheaper than even taking taxis back and forth to dinner.

Unless you plan to go off-roading, I would say a 4wd is not necessary. A high clearance vehicle is nice to have though in case of rough roads. We've driven around the island in a regular car before and it was fine.
